The National Center for Mental Health (NCMH) was recognized with the Healthy Healthcare Engagement Award for Mental Health Promotion for its outstanding efforts in implementing the Department of Health (DOH) Healthy Hospital Activity under Priority Area 5: Mental Health. The award was presented during the Orientation on the Implementation of Healthy Hospital Activities, held at St. Giles Makati on March 19, 2025, where Sir Marvin Baraoidan and Sir Francis Paule from the Public Health Unit represented NCMH. The orientation aimed to equip stakeholders with essential knowledge on the guidelines, planning, and documentation of Healthy Hospital Activities, reinforcing efforts to ensure that health promotion initiatives are well-designed and executed.
The DOH Healthy Hospital Activities initiative underscores the importance of holistic healthcare, emphasizing that mental health is just as vital as physical health in hospital environments. By implementing programs that promote psychological well-being and mental health awareness, hospitals and communities can create a more supportive and resilient environment. NCMH’s recognition highlights its commitment to fostering a mentally healthy setting through innovative programs, awareness campaigns, and workplace mental health initiatives.
