In line with the Department of Health’s Resbakuna Program which intends to vaccinate frontline healthcare workers against COVID-19 in the country, NCMH started rolling out its vaccination program among its employees last March 5, 2021. Asst. Secretary of Health Dr. Elmer Punzalan from DOH Field Implementation and Coordination Team (FICT) NCR together with MMDA Chairman Benhur Abalos and Mandaluyong City Mayor Menchie Abalos, among others, graced the event. NCMH is among the first DOH hospitals allocated with 300 doses of Sinovac donation. First to receive the vaccine jabs were NCMH Medical Center Chief Dr. Noel V. Reyes and Chief of Medical Professional Service Dr. Beverly Azucena.
NCMH vaccination program intends to inoculate 70% of its total employees to attain herd immunity. Additional doses of 440 Sinovac and 1,000 (100 vials) AstraZenica vaccines arrived last March 8 and 9, 2021 respectively. To sum, 2,174 (out of 2,604) employees and service providers received the vaccines.
