The National Center for Mental Health, along with other level 3 hospitals both public and private, was awarded by the Department of Health - Health Facilities and Services Regulatory Bureau, for the 2022 DOH Hospital Star Awards with the theme Breaking Barriers of Mediocrity: The Best Pandemic Responders.

Dr. Teresa Rosalie Del Valle and Mr. Tristian John Palmani received the award in behalf of the Medical Center Chief, Dr. Noel Reyes, during the 2nd Annual Hospital Summit and 2022 Hospital Star Awards Ceremony held at Lapu-Lapu City in Cebu last November 21, 2022.

The objective of the program is to give recognition to hospitals upholding the best health practice in the delivery of services, to encourage more hospitals to achieve more excellence and quality in the provision of health care services, and to provide the stakeholders a new perspective as we aim to shift from input to output/outcome-based regulation and improve health outcome.

Among the criteria for choosing the best responders includes safety and infection control, service provision, customer and employees satisfaction, community-based activities, quality improvements, and coping up with COVID-19 pandemic.
