NCMH applauds Borongan City Infirmary's initiative and dedication to the mental health of Borongan, Eastern Samar.
Their Chief of Hospital, Dr. Raul Villanueva, and his staff of physicians, nurses, and administrative employees went through capacity building and immersion training in delivering essential mental health interventions.
They have spent a week completing didactics on common mental health conditions and psychiatric emergency situations.
These lessons were supplemented with hands-on experience in the Psychiatric Emergency Room, Outpatient Section, and Acute Crisis Intervention Section.
This became possible through the technical support of the Office of Special Concerns' Community Based Mental Health Capacity Building and Training Unit, the Nursing Education Training and Research Office, and the rest of NCMH.
