In line with its continuing mission to strengthen mental health promotion in the workplace, the National Center for Mental Health - Public Health Unit (NCMH-PHU) conducted a Psychosocial Wellness in the Workplace session for the employees of Food Machinery Industrial Corporation (FMIC) on June 16, 2025, held at their industrial facility in Meycauayan, Bulacan.

The activity aimed to empower industrial workers with practical knowledge and tools to protect their mental well-being and contribute to a more supportive and resilient work environment. NCMH-PHU facilitators delivered a series of engaging, informative, and human-centered discussions on key mental health concerns relevant to today’s workplace realities.

Francis R. Paule opened the session by introducing the WHO Healthy Workplace Model, emphasizing the value of system-level and organizational approaches in improving employee well-being and overall productivity. Lynell C. Barayuga followed with a comprehensive overview of mental health and a conversation on addressing stigma, encouraging participants to cultivate a more open, inclusive, and understanding culture in the workplace. Joshua James S. Vicente shared practical and accessible stress management techniques designed to help employees manage everyday challenges. Keisha D. Arjona concluded the program with a discussion on how to build a psychologically supportive environment, integrating the principles of Psychological First Aid (PFA) into daily interactions.

The program, marked by its interactive delivery and relatable content, reflects the growing need for mental health awareness and capacity-building in the industrial sector. Through partnerships with institutions like FMIC, NCMH-PHU continues to extend its reach, championing the creation of workplaces that uphold not only physical safety, but also psychological wellness as a core part of employee care.
