September 26 each year has been declared as the “World Environmental Health Day” by the International Federation of Environmental Health (IFEH).

In line with this, President Rodrigo Duterte signed Proclamation No. 595 on October 01, 2018 declaring the said date of every year as “World Environmental Health Day” in the Philippines. This is to raise public awareness on the relationship of health and the environment, as well as promote activities and programs which ensure accountability on health and environmental integrity.

This year’s theme set by the IFEH is “Environmental Health, a Key Public Health Intervention in Disease Pandemic Prevention.”
